International Museum of Women Presents: Is Biology Destiny?
Global Fund for Women is a proud partner of the International Museum of Women's new global online exhibition Women, Power and Politics and their Speaker Series. From now until December 31, 2008, Women, Power and Politics will focus on a provocative new topic each month. Through essays, art, film and political cartoons, IMOW reveals the stories of women claiming and exercising their power to transform our world.
To honor Mother's Day, the exhibition will focus on mothers working together for justice. Visit Is Biology Destiny? Here, you can also view the work of Theatre Aquarium, one of Global Fund's grantee partners, featured in the exhibition in March!
IMOW will also host former president of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, on May 14 as part of its Extraordinary Voices, Extraordinary Change Speaker Series. Known for exhibiting strength, determination, vision and care in her leadership style, Vike-Freiberga, the first woman head of state in post-communist Eastern Europe, demonstrated that women can be both "tough" and "compassionate." Purchase tickets.
Women, Power and Politics is available to a global audience in Arabic, English, French and Spanish and inspires visitors to learn, speak, act and participate. Global Fund for Women encourages you to join the I.M.O.W. online community. Check back often to see new stories and conversations from Global Fund for Women and sister organizations.
