Reaching out to our advisors and grantees around the world through site visits and regional conferences is a key component of the Global Fund’s grantmaking. By visiting local women’s rights activists, we experience the work of women’s groups first-hand, share strategies and expertise face-to-face and build trust and respect.

Global Fund advisors and staff held a three-day forum in the Caucasus, a region deeply affected by conflict and economic transition. In Tbilisi, Georgia, women from Armenia and Georgia developed a regional strategy for women’s rights for the first time.		Two groups of Global Fund donors traveled to Southeast Asia to experience first hand the growth of women's rights in a region devastated by the Vietnam War, and its subsequent catastrophic political and economic ramifications.		As part of the Global Fund’s Middle East and North Africa Initiative, an international delegation of 28 Global Fund board members, staff, and supporters traveled to nine countries in the region, meeting with nearly 200 women’s groups to learn about the most pressing issues facing the region's women.
