What is RSS?
RSS is a tool that allows you to know when there is new content on a website without visiting the site directly. By subscribing to RSS feeds you receive summaries of the latest content from sites you like to read.

Instead of visiting the Global Fund's website every day to read our new blog entries, we will send all our RSS subscribers the headlines of our new stories every time we update our site. It's a tool to help you save time and to help us keep you up-to-date on the Global Fund's network of powerful women.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is a tool that has been popularized by bloggers. Essentially RSS files are small files that have been written in HTML code for computers. An RSS feed reader or aggregator "translates" the code and appears in your feed reader.

There are two main types of readers: those used with an Internet browser and those that are downloaded to your computer. We've written directions on how to subscribe via several popular RSS readers available on Gmail, YahooMail, Hotmail, NetNewsWire, Bloglines, Mozilla Firefox
