CNN recently featured a video on women's shelters run by Women for Afghan Women (WAW), a Global Fund grantee partner. WAW is one of the few organizations in Afghanistan providing refuge for women and girls who have resisted domestic abuse, rape and violence. Watch the video
Formed in 2001 as
a women's collective, WAW networks with activists and scholars to further
the human rights of Afghan women. The group is active in education,
