2006-2007 Annual Report

Building Momentum

 For the past 20 years, the Global Fund has provided critical general support grants to build capacity in women-led associations. In addition, we have awarded grants to support alliances between and among groups, amplify collective influence and connect women throughout all layers of society. This annual report pays tribute to the thousands of courageous women and men who cultivate and build movements that are transforming relations of power throughout the world.

2005-2006 Annual Report

Cultivating Community

 Isolation is one of the worst barriers to women’s emancipation.The global women’s movement has a strong emphasis on making connections. Despite the construction of  walls, borders and barriers,  women are building and strengthening networks. By doing so, women are defining their own borders and deciding their own destinies. The Global Fund for Women supports women who are linking to and strengthening one another.

Investing in Women:
Beyond the Rhetoric

 The 2004-2005 Annual Report details how the Global Fund is moving beyond the rhetoric by investing in women's efforts to change the world. Read stories from the front lines about how Global Fund grantees are claiming rights to food security, declaring reproductive rights, laboring for economic justice, demanding a political voice and rising up for democracy. Between July 1, 2004 and June 29, 2005, the Global Fund for Women increased overall grantmaking by 35 percent and awarded over $7.3 million to 573 women's right's organizations in 114 countries.

A Powerful Force For Change

For twenty years, the Global Fund for Women has played a key role in advancing human rights worldwide. Our latest strategic plan builds on past accomplishments and deepens the Global Fund’s commitment to advancing women’s rights by investing in sustainable local, national and transnational women’s movements and linking them to allied social justice movements to be able to effect lasting change in relationships of socio-economic and political power. This plan also clarifies the vision, mission and guiding principles of the organization, defines new directions, partnerships and opportunities, and outlines key results areas, goals and the strategies we will use to achieve them.
