GFW grantee Women for Women's Human Rights (WWHR) is one of the members of the Turkish NGO working group that takes part in the shadow reporting process for CEDAW. The working group collaborated in compiling and editing a vital shadow report on CEDAW, intended to provide an alternate narrative to the government report and to draw attention to the discrimination faced by women in Turkey.
The main issues presented in the report include: equality before the law, women’s participation in politics and decision-making mechanisms, education, women’s participation in the labour force, health, media, and violence against women. Read the report.For more information about CEDAW:
