Young Arab Feminists Blog!

By Preeti Mangala Shekar

A recently held convening in Cairo, Egypt, by GFW grantees brought together 20 young Arab women activists building a collective network of support for young Arab activists in the region.

This convening came out of a need to address the challenges and sexism young Arab women face and experience in their daily lives. They also recognize the need to resist fragmentation and elitism of women's rights work in Arab societies. By also enabling dialogues with older generation of feminist activists and also non-feminists, this forum is committed to forge ahead by drawing from intergenerational feminist movement building. Read their updates and reflections posted on their web site.
