Grantee Partner and Kavita Ramdas Cited in The Nation Op-ed About Military Presence in Afghanistan

A recent op-ed that was published on The Nation’s blog entitled “A Better Way for Afghan Women than War” cited GFW President Kavita Ramdas and GFW grantee partner Revolutionary Association of Women of Afghanistan.  Katrina Vanden Heuvel, the author of the blog, strongly challenges the Obama administration and some feminist organizations such as the Feminist Majority Foundation (FMF) that believe the heightened military presence in Afghanistan is beneficial for women and girls. Ramdas says that the US military presence has led to increased rates of trafficking, rape and prostitution. Read the op-ed.
