On March 8, the Global Fund for Women celebrated the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day with a lively group of supporters. We shared food, wine, and camaraderie, and were inspired by speaker Lepa Mladjenovic, a self-described “radical feminist lesbian” from Serbia with 18 years of history with the Global Fund for Women as a grantee and Advisor. Lepa is a leading anti-violence and anti-war activist in her country, where she currently heads the Autonomous Women’s Center. Lepa shared stories of first becoming a feminist as a teen, fighting social injustice in her community, and dedicating her life to ending all forms of violence and oppression.

Designed especially for first-time fundraisers, the Global Fund’s updated handbook presents some key ideas about raising money to fund women's rights work in today's global political and economic context. If you know or work with women's groups struggling for resources, please read, and pass on this manual. Download the latest version!

This is the older version of the above handbook, written by Global Fund staff, and explores key ideas about raising money to fund women's rights work. It is especially designed for first-time fundraisers and for women's groups in developing countries.

The handbook captures the essence of the Global Fund's Women, Money, and Empowerment workshops, which were given for activists at the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995.
