Girls Take Charge

GFW Celebrates "Take Our Daughters To Work Day®"
Take Our Daughters To Work Day On April 25th, 2002, 17 girls gathered with mothers, teachers and Global Fund staff members to discuss philanthropy and women's human rights as part of the tenth annual Take Our Daughters To Work Day® sponsored nationally by the Ms. Foundation. The girls participated in grantmaking and fundraising exercises. Inspired by the program, the girls are planning to write a grant to request money to reinstate a math program that was cancelled at their school.

Our warm thanks to Anne McCarten-Gibbs, Esther Hewlett and Ibukun Olude of Youth Philanthropy Worldwide, who organized and supported the 4th annual Take Our Daughters to Work Day® at the Global Fund.
