Celebrating International Women's Day

On March 8, 2003, International Women's Day, over 300 Global Fund supporters came together at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco for an evening of music, poetry and dance. The concert, which raised $36,500 for women's rights groups worldwide, featured the music of Toshi Reagon. The event would not have been possible without the dedication and energy of our wonderful volunteer committee—a very special thanks to Cathy Barber, Sara Furrer, Christian McDaniel and Steve Sacks.

Graça Machel Inspires Donors

The Global Fund and the Flora Family Foundation recently co-hosted a reception to honor Ms. Graça Machel, former first lady of Mozambique. Ms. Machel has worked tirelessly for decades to educate the children of Mozambique and to empower Mozambican women. She spoke passionately about the struggle to provide a quality education for all girls in southern Africa. We extend a warm thanks to the Flora Family Foundation for their support and to Ms. Machel for her inspiring presence.
