Through years of advocacy, the Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation has achieved a major success in the struggle against domestic violence. On March 16, 2005, the National Assembly of Bulgaria adopted the Law on Protection against Domestic Violence, implementing programs to prevent and prohibit violence against women. The Global Fund for Women congratulates the foundation for this landmark victory for women's rights in Bulgaria.
