PETER GRUBER FOUNDATION

For the second year in a row, the Peter Gruber Foundation has selected a Global Fund grantee as the recipient of the International Women's Rights Prize. The Shan Women's Action Network and the Women's League of Burma will receive this year's prize for challenging human rights violations and bringing attention to the systematic sexual abuse of ethnic Shan women in Burma. The Shan Women's Action Network helped establish the Women's League of Burma, a Global Fund grantee since 2001.
