Mozn\u2019s work focuses on the political, social, and economic status of women in Egypt. Together with the Women Political Participation Academy Program, Nazra brought a feminist point of view into unions, political movements, political parties and local administrations, and a more powerful voice for female candidates within these organizations. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Through Nazra and on her own,\u00a0Mozn\u00a0documented the human rights violations taking place in Tahrir Square during the Egyptian Revolution in 2011. She worked with local organizations to protect the rights of women who\u00a0experienced\u00a0violence in\u00a0Tahrir Square\u00a0and\u00a0coordinated\u00a0efforts\u00a0to provide women with medical,\u00a0psychological\u00a0and legal support. After the revolution,\u00a0Nazra started\u00a0a hotline for\u00a0women survivors of\u00a0sexual\u00a0assault. In all the cases\u00a0that the members of Nazra\u00a0followed,\u00a0they\u00a0ensured the documentation of human rights violations, and defended women\u2019s rights, regardless of\u00a0any\u00a0political views.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Following the revolution, she took part in a coalition of women\u2019s organizations\u00a0and played a major role in the inclusion of women\u2019s rights in the Egyptian Constitution.\u00a0In 2015 she was\u00a0one of the\u00a0pioneers\u00a0in the establishment of a coalition of civil society organizations called\u00a0the \u2018Defenders of Women\u2019s Rights in the Middle East and North Africa.\u2019<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When\u00a0the\u00a0oppression\u00a0on\u00a0civil society organizations intensified in 2011, an investigation against\u00a0Mozn\u00a0was launched on the pretext that Nazra had illegally accepted foreign funding. In 2016 she was prevented from traveling to take part in an international meeting and a travel ban was\u00a0imposed upon\u00a0her. Because of the restriction of its funds, Nazra was forced to close its office.
