Krista grew up in Lahaina, Hawaii and attended the University of Southern California, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Photography. As the Digital Communications and Editorial Manager at IMOW from 2009-2014, Krista utilized her passion for women’s human rights and her love of storytelling and art to help develop award-winning online exhibitions such as Muslima: Muslim Women’s Art & Voices, MAMA: Motherhood Around the Globe, and Economica: Women and the Global Economy. Prior to joining IMOW, Krista worked as an editor and journalist. She was the assistant editor at Preservation magazine in Washington, D.C., and a general assignment reporter for the Maui News in Maui, Hawaii. Her writing has appeared in The Washington Post, AARP Bulletin, Washington City Paper, AlterNet, and other publications. Krista speaks conversational French and studied Art History and African Literature at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
