"Enough of the siege!": Condemning violence and human rights violations in Palestine, following latest massacre

We condemn the shameful violence against Palestinians, and repeated violation of human rights by Israeli forces. Monday, May 14 produced the biggest one-day death toll of Palestinians killed by Israelis since Israel’s 2014 invasion of Gaza. According to the Health Ministry, 60 Palestinians were killed and more than 2,700 injured on Monday as the Israeli army fired live ammunition, tear gas, and firebombs at mostly unarmed protestors assembled along several points near the fence with Israel.

We denounce the repeated use of violence against Palestinians by Israeli forces. The international community cannot stand by while Israel commits violations of human rights, without consequence. Join us in standing in solidarity with Palestinians as they face injustice, dehumanization, violence, and displacement, and with our sisters in Palestine and Israel relentlessly advocating for justice, peace, and human rights.

“Enough of the siege! Enough shooting of protestors! This is the time to raise a scream and stretch a strong and clear line: shooting protestors is not acceptable,” expressed the Coalition of Women for Peace, a feminist voice for peace working to eliminate militarism and the Israeli occupation of Palestine, in one of several updates on its Facebook page during this latest crisis.

Peace cannot happen in the midst of injustice and human rights violations. And we must call to #FreePalestine while acknowledging the need to hold Israel accountable for the decades of shameful injustice and violations. Join us in standing in solidarity, and get loud to denounce this deplorable violence.
