Global Fund for Women is currently accepting Organizational Profiles.
By submitting an Organizational Profile with Global Fund for Women through our secure online application site, applicants will be under consideration for our 2016 annual grantmaking cycle. If deemed qualified, these applicants will be contacted and invited to submit a full proposal for funding. In addition, we may contact applicants that have submitted an Organizational Profile with any additional relevant funding opportunities that may arise during the year.
September 1, 2015: Open for online Organizational Profile submission
January 31, 2016: Deadline for submitting an Organizational Profile for the 2016 grantmaking cycle
March 15, 2016: Groups that have submitted an Organizational Profile will be invited to submit a proposal or notified of decline
June 30, 2016: Applicants will be notified of award or decline
In August 2013, we conducted a review of our grantmaking process, which was informed by our fundraising context, our organizational values, and our desire to operate in an efficient and effective way. As a public grantmaking organization, we must fundraise for every dollar we are able to grant to women’s rights organizations, and we are committed to raising funds prior to our grantmaking cycles. We wanted to be more transparent about the amount and type of funds we have available for grantmaking. In addition, we wanted to acknowledge the time it takes to complete an application. We have designed a process that should enhance transparency, reduce applicant wait time, and share realistic expectations. We are requiring the submission of an Organizational Profile as a way of keeping groups from spending too much time completing a full application, if there is no match with our current priorities and available funding. We will also share the budget, priority issues and geographic focus for the current grantmaking cycle with groups that have submitted their Organizational Profile.
In addition to an annual grantmaking cycle, we will be instituting Requests For Proposals (RFPs) for particular issue-based initiatives as opportunities arise. We will post these RFPs on our website and we will contact groups with Organizational Profiles that appear to be a match to submit a full proposal. As these opportunities may arise at any time, we strongly encourage groups to complete their Organizational Profiles in our online system as soon as possible.
