Aida Akim-Escriva

Aida Akim-Escriva [she/her/hers] is the Program Officer, Adolescent Girls’ Rights at Global Fund for Women.

Aida Akim-Escriva grew up migrating along the roads of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Russia. Her experiences ranged from being a small businesses owner in the bazaars of Kazakhstan to serving at Senator Gillibrand’s office assisting active US military personnel and veterans. Most recently, Aida served as a consultant at Sulaiman Too Sacred Mountain National Museum in Kyrgyzstan where she strengthened the museum’s ability communicate its mission with the outside world. Aida earned an Architectural Studies degree from Amherst College and associates degree in Journalism from LaGuardia Community College. Before moving to the US, Aida was actively involved in the women empowerment movement and AIDs awareness programs through individual projects and various NGOs in Kazakhstan. She also has a continuing interest in art history and practice of art, which led her to study in Florence, Italy, to learn metal welding and co-curate a Russian Avant-garde exhibition at the Mead Art Museum.
