Aissata Sall

Director, Participatory Approach

Aissata Sall [she/her/hers] is the Director, Participatory Approach at Global Fund for Women.

Aissata is a multilingual professional who has devoted her career to young people, adolescent girls and women. She brings extensive experience in program management and her areas of technical expertise include adolescent girls programming, violence against women and girls (VAWG), advocacy and movement building. Prior to joining Global Fund for women, Aissata was the Women and Girls’ Protection and Empowerment Program Coordinator at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Sierra Leone where she provided technical and management support on VAWG, leadership and advocacy issues. Aissata first arrived in Sierra Leone as an Adolescent Girls Specialist during the Ebola outbreak where she led the design, planning and implementation of an adolescent girls program in three Eastern districts of Sierra Leone. The program reached the most marginalized 10-19 year old girls, including adolescent girls survivors of gender-based violence and Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) survivors. Aissata previously worked for Girl Hub as an Associate Manager/Adolescent Girls Specialist where she provided technical expertise to the functional teams to ensure the delivery of girl-centered programs reflecting global knowledge on adolescent girls. She also led adolescent and youth health programs at Population Services International (PSI) and monitoring and evaluation at the Ministry of Youth of the Government of Rwanda. Aissata holds an M.Sc. in Project Management and a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Quebec in Canada as well as a BA in International Business from Kedge Business School in France. She has lived and worked in multi-cultural settings in Europe, North America, and East and West Africa. She is fluent in French, English and Swahili and with good knowledge of Spanish and Kinyarwanda, as well as basic Portuguese.
