Michelle Truong

Michelle Truong (she/her/hers) is the Learning and Evaluation Officer at Global Fund for Women.

Michelle is a researcher and evaluator who is passionate about working in partnership with activists and movements to advance social justice and human rights worldwide.

Prior to joining Global Fund for Women as Learning and Evaluation Officer in March 2021, Michelle was at the International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC), where she worked on organizational learning, evaluation, and capacity building around grantmaking and advocacy for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Michelle also collaborated with grantee partners to evaluate the implementation and impacts of SRHR laws and policies, most recently establishing a research partnership with a grassroots feminist group in Chile. Before IWHC, Michelle was a Fellow for the Lerner Center for Public Health Promotion at Columbia University, and was previously a research assistant at the Texas Policy Evaluation Project at the University of Texas at Austin.

Michelle embraces a feminist evaluation and emergent strategy approach and enjoys working collectively with diverse stakeholders. A native Texan, she holds a BA in Spanish Literature and a BS in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MPH from Columbia University. She speaks English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, and finds joy in reading, cooking, and exploring nature.
