Sandra Macías del Villar

Director, Feminist Crisis Response and Sustaining Movements Co-Lead

Sandra Macías del Villar (she/her/hers) is the Director, Feminist Crisis Response and Sustaining Movements Co-Lead at Global Fund for Women.

Sandra is a passionate intersectional Latinx feminist with extensive experience working in the human rights philanthropic sector. She has specialized in feminist grantmaking with women’s funds as well as resourcing social justice movements and grassroots organizations for more than a decade. Sandra is currently the Program Director, Crisis at the Global Fund for Women and has deep expertise in the crises, development, and humanitarian sectors. In these spaces, Sandra has been a strong advocate with and for women, girls, trans and gender nonconforming people as well as historically marginalized populations.

Sandra has also specialized in program design, strategic planning and participatory grantmaking, and has worked at key organizations including Mama Cash, Global Fund for Children (GFC) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC). She holds a master’s degree and serves on the board of Papaya Kuir, a collective of Latinx queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming migrants in the Netherlands. Sandra speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Haitian Creole. In her free time, Sandra enjoys dancing, particularly with her daughter, as well as playing with her dog.
