Shalini Nataraj Op-ed about Mu Sochua and Corruption in Cambodia

Shalinifor web.jpgRead an eye-opening opinion piece in the SF Chronicle written by GFW VP of Programs, Shalini Nataraj, about the political corruption in Cambodia.  Shalini traveled to Cambodia last week and met with Mu Sochua, a member of the Cambodian Parliament in the opposition party and a women’s rights activist who will be going to court for publicly standing up to the Prime Minister.

Mu Sochua Speaks Out About Cambodia

mu sochua in cambodia.JPGGFW board member Mu Sochua, a former Nobel Peace Prize nominee and a member of Cambodia's Parliament, was in Boulder, Colorado last week urging Americans to stop ignoring the corruption in Cambodia.. Sochua also drew particular attention to sex trafficking in Cambodia by giving an example of a three-year-old child being sold as a sex slave for fifty dollars.  Read more about Mu Sochua’s stay in Boulder. A member of the opposition party, Sochua also faces imprisonment when she returns to Cambodia.
