The goals for 2024 to 2025 include leadership, recruitment, expansion, and meaningful programming.
MISSION
Spark is on a mission to empower women in business and inspiring young women to become intersectional activists in gender and social justice causes. The program uniquely combines business development and strategy with a deep emphasis on empathy for the global growth of female-driven philanthropy. By acting as a catalyst, Spark aims to propel the advancement of gender equality and drive positive change throughout the United States and around the world.

Spark is a dynamic community of young professionals—open to anyone who strives to be a social and gender justice advocate—passionate about equality, philanthropy, and business development. It serves as a stepping stone for driven individuals seeking to blend business success with philathropy and activism.
SPARK’S HISTORY
Founded in 2005, Spark initially operated as an independent entity, aligning with the grantmaking model of The Global Fund for Women. After a decade of impactful work, Spark strategically merged with The Global Fund for Women in 2019. The collaboration resulted in directing over $1.8 million to 84 organizations globally, impacting the lives of over 40,000 women and girls.
SPARK’S IMPACT
Over the years, Spark has contributed significantly to the gender equality movement by directing funds, providing educational programming, and empowering young professionals to become advocates. The program’s impact has transcended borders, leaving a legacy of transformed lives and a commitment to stewardship for good.
GOALS FOR 2025
Clear Action Plan: Develop and execute a comprehensive 5-year action plan encompassing fundraising opportunities, educational trips, and recruitment strategies to facilitate growth and advancement of the Spark program.
- Membership Expansion: Initiate membership near throughout the country, with chapters beginning in California, with plans for expansion throughout the state and country to work towards national and international initiatives.
- Identify Corporate Partnership Opportunities: Utilize connections and platforms to connect with prominent business persons who align and partner to gain insight and educate donors/sponsors.
- Fundraise: Secure donations and sponsorships to support causes in local communities and abroad that are closely connected to Global Fund for Women and Spark’s mission and values.
Global Fund for Women has public charity, nontaxable, 501(c)(3) status in the United States.
