A trusted partner for grassroots feminist organizations
In 1987, four women in Palo Alto, California, recognized a gap: feminist grassroots organizations around the globe were creating real change in their communities, but traditional philanthropy kept overlooking them. So they founded Global Fund for Women with a different approach: fund these organizations directly and trust them to lead.

What We Do
Over the past 40 years, we have awarded $263 million to 5,800+ organizations in 180 countries. We find, fund, and support grassroots feminist organizations that traditional funders often overlook or can't reach. They are on the frontlines of gender justice, taking action, organizing protests and challenging laws, often at great personal risk.
By 2030, we will award an additional $100 million in grants to grassroots feminist organizations. Here is how we will do it:

We will mobilize flexible, long-term funding through deeper relationships, and we will steward investments responsibly.
Provide Comprehensive Support
We will provide flexible, multi-year funding and responsive support that strengthens the resilience, collective power, and community-driven solutions of grassroots feminist organizations.
