Karen Ishimaru (she/her/hers) is the Director, Process & Information Management at Global Fund for Women.
Karen has developed and enhanced database systems at nonprofits for over 10 years. She shares a passion for the participatory design approach central to the work of the Information Management team at Global Fund for Women. Prior to joining Global Fund for Women, she built and led the adoption of a Salesforce implementation at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Her efforts to form a cross-team working group established a means of guiding the system’s development and helped it continue to evolve and respond to organizational needs in a holistic way. Karen believes in values-based initiatives that recognize and empower marginalized groups to enact positive change for themselves and their communities. She has a masters degree in public policy from UCLA and bachelor of arts from UC Berkeley. In her free time, she enjoys biking along the beach and experimental baking with her two daughters.
