Marry Ferreira

Marry Ferreira (she/her) is the Communications Manager, Global Accountability at Global Fund for Women.

As the Communications Manager, Global Accountability, Marry works on the design and implementation of the Generation Equality Forum (GEF) Accountability initiative housed at Global Fund for Women with a focus on communications and advocacy.

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Marry earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism at Federal Fluminense University and later obtained an M.A. in Public Media at Fordham University, New York. Marry is actively involved with human rights movements in Latin America and has a history of using communications and technologies to engage Black and Latine communities and connect them to policies and programs.

Prior to joining Global Fund for Women, Marry has worked for nonprofits in the Americas developing communications strategies centered on immigration, gender, and racial justice to amplify international solidarity and community organizing. She has also served as United Nations Youth Representative for the International Association of Women in Radio and Television, seating on the Steering Committee of New York City for CEDAW. Marry is co-founder of the Kilomba Collective, the first collective of Black Brazilian immigrant women and girls in the United States.
