Obed Kabanda

Director of Government Partnerships

Dr. Obed Kabanda (he/him/his) is the Director of Government Partnerships at Global Fund for Women.

Obed has over 17 years of experience initiating, developing, and managing partnerships at government and multilateral levels. He has raised funds and managed partnerships with USAID, UNICEF, UNDEF, PATH, UNFPA, US and Canada Foundations, and European governments.

He holds a Doctor of Educational and Organizational Learning and Leadership through the College of Education at Seattle University, a Stanford University Executive Leadership for Nonprofit Managers, a Master’s degree of Public Health Leadership, and a Bachelor of Community Leadership and Development. He was the Executive Director at ACODEV, a Ugandan non-profit that impacted up to 1.2 million children, women, and youth in the areas of human rights and reproductive and maternal newborn health programs. He also served as an Interim Fund Chief of Party at the International Fund for Grassroots Organizations.
